I'm a high school English teacher. I teach "Resource" English to students who struggle a bit in reading, writing or organization. I spend a lot of time preparing for my lessons and collecting great tips along the way and wherever I can. Feel free to use anything I post on my teaching page!
FLIP CHARTS!! ~~ An oldie but a goodie! I used this tried and true project to help my students learn their parts of speech. We just went to full year courses (instead of semester) this year and I am saving these and handing them back out to the kids so they can use them to study for their final exam in May!
Even with h.s. students I found it best to cut out the paper first, number them into 9 sizes (for cover and 8 parts of speech) and then let the kids assemble them. Inside each "flip tab" we put an area for notes and examples for each POS! The kids enjoyed the hands-on work and many said it was very helpful to them when studying for their big test over the unit! :D
